President instructs to strengthen work on development of medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan
The President received the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Marat Karabayev, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
The Head of State was informed about the activities of the Ministry and the execution of its instructions, including those related to improving the quality of roads and providing the population with housing.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with a report on the results of the audit of the fields. According to Marat Karabayev, more than 200 contracts and licenses for the development of solid minerals were withdrawn in connection with violations. The Minister also reported on the implementation of the pool of new industrial investment projects, consisting of over 800 projects.
The Head of State was informed about the development of transport infrastructure. On the relevant instructions, the Government approved the Concept for the Development of the Country's Transport and Logistics Potential until 2030. In addition, in order to increase the transit potential, the problem of an acute shortage of the wagon fleet is being solved. The production of cars and locomotives will be carried out at domestic plants with the participation of Stadler, Alstom and Wabtec.
As part of the implementation of the President's election platform until 2029, work is underway to develop international automobile corridors, including the construction and reconstruction of 8,000 kilometers of roads of republican significance.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that there is a steady growth in civil aviation. In 2022, the pre-pandemic level was overcome - Kazakhstan's airlines transported almost 11 million passengers. The "open skies" mode has been introduced, the geography of flights is expanding. Until 2025, it is planned to launch flights to Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai and New York.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to strengthen work on the development of medium-sized businesses, attracting investments in the raw materials sector, mining and geological exploration. The President demanded to pay special attention to the modernization of road, social, engineering and communal infrastructure, to strengthen work on the localization of production and to accelerate the development of the Urban Planning Code.
