Port Cities of Aktau and Piraeus are Establishing Cooperation Taking into Account the Growing Potential of the Trans-Caspian Route
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev held a meeting with the Mayor of Piraeus Yiannis Moralis and the parties reached an agreement to establish cooperation between the cities of Aktau and Piraeus, El.kz cites MFA.
Yiannis Moralis introduced the plans for the development of the largest port of Greece – Piraeus, located in the city, which has a feeder connection with the Mediterranean, Black and Adriatic seas, as well as rail and road connections with the countries of the Balkans and Central Europe.
Ambassador Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev noted the potential for combining the logistics capabilities of Kazakhstan and Greece for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk.
Yiannis Moralis expressed interest in strengthening long-term partnerships with the city of Aktau in the field of economics, tourism and cultural and humanitarian ties.
In this context, Ambassador Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, in agreement with Akim of the Mangystau region Nurlan Nogayev, invited a delegation from the city of Piraeus to visit Aktau in the near future.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kazakhstan-Hellenic Business Council Konstantinos Petridis, who attended the meeting, presented his proposals for the development of economic ties in the field of infrastructure development and construction.
