Pilot project to help taxi drivers and couriers launched in Kazakhstan
The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan once again reminds that when providing taxi or courier services, as well as when carrying out any other business activity, it is mandatory to pay taxes and social payments with the registration of an individual entrepreneur, or registration as an employee, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
These requirements are not new, but they are not fulfilled by all taxi drivers, because, in their opinion, registration as an individual entrepreneur leads to many obligations (calculation of taxes, social payments and submission of declarations), the SRC noted.
That is why the State Revenue Committee proposes to choose a mode based on a special mobile application "e-Salyq Business" in order to simplify the fulfillment of obligations. There is no need to submit a tax return in the application, the obligation of 1 percent of income tax plus social payments (pension contributions, social contributions and health insurance) will be calculated by the application itself.
In this connection, in order to assist in the fulfillment of tax obligations to persons providing services using Internet platforms, the SRC launched a pilot project based on the tax regime using the eSalyq Business mobile application.
As part of it, the registration of an individual entrepreneur can take place directly on the Internet platform, the operator of the Internet platform when paying income, with the consent of the taxi driver (courier), withheld and paid taxes and social payments, then the information is automatically transferred to the SRC. Or the entrepreneur himself pays the taxes and social payments calculated by the application.
This not only completely frees an individual from any contacts with the tax authorities and eliminates errors in the calculation and payment of taxes, but also allows not to increase the financial burden, for example, on taxi drivers, since business processes are set up in such a way that the taxi driver will be able to directly receive orders from the platform, without intermediaries, the SRC emphasized.
To date, work is still underway with Yandex.taxi and other operators of Internet platforms to set up information systems, upon completion of which citizens will be able to join the pilot project exclusively on a voluntary basis.
