Participants from 30 countries gather in Aktau at international forum on tourism development

An international forum on tourism development has started in Aktau. The large-scale event brought together representatives of government agencies, travel industry, industry business associations, financial and banking institutions, airlines and carriers, representatives of diplomatic missions, as well as representatives of international organizations. In total, delegates from 30 countries take part in the forum, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the forum, panel discussions will be held on the topics: "International openness and promotion", "Investment in tourism" and "Development of tourism in the region", where professionals and industry experts will make presentations.   After the meeting, a platform will be organized for B2B sessions, negotiations and signing of agreements.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev noted that much attention is paid to the development of investment potential in the tourism sector. Since 2019, more than 400 investment projects have been launched for a total amount of about 437 billion tenge. This year, it is planned to implement 115 projects worth 288 billion These projects will create more than 14,000 beds and more than 1,500 permanent jobs.

- We are on the verge of a new round of development of the industry. Therefore, today it is important for us to discuss some key issues with the local tourism community and foreign partners. All voiced ideas, proposals, requests and initiatives will be recorded by our colleagues from NC Kazakh Tourism JSC, and representatives of the present industry bodies and akimats will be able to give their comments. We want us to form concrete steps for the further development of tourism as a result of today's event," Yermek Marzhikpayev said.
