Over 3.5 thousand deposits of drinking water explored in Kazakhstan
3,692 thousand deposits of drinking water have been explored in Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This is necessary for domestic and drinking water supply. At the same time, according to the department, more than 1 cubic kilometer is spent annually for household and drinking needs.
According to the current version of the Water Code, the reservation of drinking water sources is carried out on the basis of underground water bodies protected from pollution and clogging.
- These supplies of drinking water will exist in case of its shortage. We will pay great attention to the study of groundwater. For example, a service will be created for the organization of hydrogeological work and the conduct of state control and monitoring of groundwater resources. Part of the functions on groundwater is transferred to our jurisdiction from the Committee of Geology of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan," said Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
