On meeting of permanent representatives of Central Asia UN: new prospects for regional Cooperation
A meeting of the Permanent Representatives of the Central Asian states to the UN with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze was held in New York, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, Kaha Imnadze informed about the results of the recent visit of the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to Central Asia and his participation in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana. The Head of UNRCCA conveyed on behalf of the UN Secretary-General words of gratitude to the leadership of the Central Asian states for the warm welcome and organization of meetings during his visit to their countries. Special Representative, in particular, noted that the UN Head highly appreciated Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and expressed satisfaction with the economic integration in Central Asia.
Head of UNRCCA expressed confidence that the upcoming 6th Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia on August 9, 2024 in Astana will contribute to further economic integration and political interaction of the countries of the region.
Kaha Imnadze informed about the results of the consultations held the day before (July 23 of this year) in the UN Security Council on the activities of the UNRCCA, generally noting a positive assessment of the ongoing processes.
