Akim of Almaty region Marat Sultangaziev noted that Oceanman is held annually in the most beautiful corners of the world. The piggy bank of the famous open reservoirs, where launches were previously held, was also replenished by the Kapchagai reservoir.
For the second year in a row, this mass sporting event has been held in our region. The first start of Oceanman Kazakhstan, which took place in July 2022, became one of the key events of the domestic swimming season. Athletes from 10 different countries of the world showed interest in it.
In terms of the number of registered participants, Oceanman Kazakhstan 2022 has become the most massive start of the global series over the past three years. 1200 athletes from 10 countries participated in the swims in four sports, said Akim of Almaty region Marat Sultangaziev.
This year, the geography of the participating countries has also expanded. The international swim is attended by swimmers in eight categories - from 7 to 70 years and older - from more than 20 countries: Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Uzbekistan, the United States of America (USA), Spain, Georgia, Israel, India, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Colombia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Qatar, Romania, Thailand and Kazakhstan.
