BAKU – Nursultan Nazarbayev, First President of Kazakhstan, was awarded the Supreme Order of the Turkic World at the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries in Baku, his Press Secretary, Aidos Ukibay reports.
It should be reminded, Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Baku on October 14, to participate in the VII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries.
During his visit, the National Leader met with Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted to the positive dynamics of development of Kazakhstani-Azerbaijani relations. "Today is the first time I have arrived to you in another status. The work on implementation of economic development programs and strengthening of independence continues in Kazakhstan. Our relations continue to develop. Now we have many opportunities to expand cooperation. It is necessary to increase the volume of trade. We have built appropriate logistics. I am pleased to have adopted the status of Honorary Chairman, as I want to continue to contribute to strengthening cooperation between our countries," said First President of Kazakhstan.
In turn, Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude Nursultan Nazarbayev for his participation in the CCTS and emphasized his contribution to the consolidation of bilateral relations. "It is a great honor for us to receive the First President of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan. You are a great friend of Azerbaijan. You have always supported our country on many international issues. Your contribution to strengthening solidarity between Turkic-speaking countries is also great. We are glad that the anniversary summit is held in Baku," the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said.
In addition, Aliyev said that the construction of the capital of Kazakhstan was an example for the development of the city of Baku. "I have seen the rapid transformation of your capital. Visiting the EXPO exhibition, I was delighted with the scale of construction and the level of architectural skill. All the success of Kazakhstan are related to your name," said Ilham Aliyev.
Nazarbayev also met with Sooronbay Zheenbekov, the President of Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the importance of further deepening of Turkic integration. "Kazakhstan cooperates with all countries of the Turkic world. I have initiated the creation of many institutions of the Council. The most important thing is to ensure peace and harmony between our countries," National Leader said.
