Number of tourists rested in resort areas of Kazakhstan increased
In 2022, the number of tourists who rested in domestic resort areas increased by 30% compared to 2021. Thanks to this, hotels at the resorts of Kazakhstan earned more than 102 billion tenge. The volume of services provided has almost doubled compared to 2021. The number of beds in resort areas has also increased: from 102,000 to 106,000 units, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, in comparison with the pre-pandemic level, the number of tourists in the resort areas of Kazakhstan has tripled, and the volume of services provided has increased by 6 times.
Most often, travelers stay in the Almaty mountain cluster, Borovoye, Mangystau resort area and on the shores of Lake Alakol.
“At the moment, active work is underway to develop tourist infrastructure in the most popular destinations. Our goal is to increase the accessibility, as well as the capacity of resorts and recreation areas, in order to increase the total number of domestic tourists to 11 million people and inbound tourists to 4 million within a few years.
