Number of electric vehicles in Kazakhstan increased three fold

Compared to the same period last year, the number of electric vehicles increased by 3.1 times,  El.kz reports with reference to the Bureau of National Statistics.

The number of electric vehicles increased from 3229 to 9906 units.

As of June 1, 2024, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5,473.7 thousand units, of which 88% are cars, 9.9% are trucks and 2.1% are buses.

81.9% of cars run on gasoline, diesel fuel (7.1%), gas ( 0.2% ) and the same number run on electricity. A mixture of gasoline and other fuels is used in 7.5% of cars.
