Kazakhstan’s enterprises increased the production of mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages by 17%, El.kz reports citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
During the first five months of the year, domestic producers manufactured 1.6 billion litres of beverages, exceeding the output recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
A total of 1.7 billion litres of products were sold on the domestic market, with sales growth outpacing production growth.
Imports accounted for 11.4% of the domestic market, while the volume of imported products increased by nearly one-third.
Kazakhstan exported 172.8 million litres of non-alcoholic beverages. The bulk of exports consisted of waters containing sugar, other sweetening matter, or flavouring substances.
The value of exports reached USD 75.5 million. Kyrgyzstan remained the largest export market for Kazakh producers.
A total of 94.9 million litres of products were exported to Kyrgyzstan, accounting for more than half of Kazakhstan’s total export volume.
Exports to Uzbekistan amounted to 48.3 million litres, with export revenues from this market also increasing.
Exports to the Russian Federation rose to 23.5 million litres, more than doubling compared to the previous year.
Multiple-fold growth in exports was recorded in the markets of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Export volumes also increased to Tajikistan, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea.
At the end of the previous year, 145 enterprises in Kazakhstan were engaged in the production of non-alcoholic beverages. The statistical data cover manufacturers operating across various regions of the country.
