Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov spoke at the Digital Bridge 2025 forum, where he discussed the impact of AI on society and new projects, El.kz reports.
According to him, artificial intelligence will transform all areas of human life in the coming years:
“This technology will radically change the structure of society. Of course, it can be approached with caution or with trust. But as I speak with business leaders, government representatives, and universities, I see more hope and inspiration. AI presents us with many challenges, but many of them can be solved with AI itself. This will be a golden age of opportunities. To achieve this, we must invest both ideas and resources,” Pavel Durov said
New Telegram laboratory in Kazakhstan
The entrepreneur highlighted the results of Telegram’s first regional office, opened in Kazakhstan last year.
“We opened our first regional office in Kazakhstan, and now we see its positive results. Today, I am pleased to announce that in the ALEM-AA building, a new Telegram laboratory is being launched. The first project of this lab will be Telegram’s collaboration with Kazakhstan’s supercomputer cluster,” he said.
Durov noted that in recent months Telegram has been developing a new technology — a solution combining blockchain and artificial intelligence.
“This system will enable over one billion people to access AI functions through a decentralized computing system. Mini apps in Telegram will be among the first users. Kazakhstan’s supercomputer cluster will become the first source of power for this technology,” he said.
The entrepreneur outlined three key principles of the new project: openness, efficiency, and privacy.
Durov also mentioned that Telegram has expanded connectivity between data centers and telecommunications systems in Kazakhstan.
“Last year we strengthened the connection between Telegram and Kazakhstani data centers. This increased connection speeds and expanded coverage for more than 12 million users in Kazakhstan. This is only the first step. Even larger projects lie ahead,” he said.
“Our goal is to make AI accessible to one billion people.”
