NEW CHAIRMAN OF UIGHUR ETHNO-CULTURAL CENTRE WAS ELECTED IN ALMATY
Chairman of the Uighur Ethno-cultural Centre elected in Almaty.
An extraordinary election conference of the Uighur Ethno-cultural Centre in Almaty was held. The conference was opened by Akhmetzhan Shardinov, APK’s member, Chairman of the Council of Public Consent of APK in Almaty, Honorary Chairman of the Republican Ethno-cultural Center of Uighurs of Kazakhstan.
An organizing committee was established to hold an extraordinary election conference. According to the program of the conference, the members of the Board were elected, 9 Councils of the center were approved, changes in the Charter were made. As a result of the general vote Osmanzhan Ubulov was elected the chairman of the municipal Uigur ethno-cultural center of Almaty.
In turn, First Deputy Uyghur Center Mahinur Israilova told about the history and stages of development of the center.
So, the Uigur ethno-cultural center of Almaty city has been created in 1989 with active support of the known academician, the director of institute of Uigur science of RK Gozhahmet Sadvakasov and is one of the large national centers.
The first chairman of the Uigur Center was elected a prominent public figure and writer Turgan Tokhtamov.
Under the chairmanship of Abdulam Ushurov, a public-political newspaper "Asia Bugun" and TV program "Tanritakh" were created, which were noted and appreciated by the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan.
