New Chairman of Information Committee appointed in Kazakhstan

Meirlan Rakhanov has been appointed to the post of Chairman of the Information Committee, El.kz reports.

Rakhanov, a graduate of the Karaganda Economic University , began his professional career in 2011, working in the internal policy department of the Karaganda city akimat.

In 2012, he held the position of a leading specialist of the Tax Department of the Karaganda region. From 2012 to 2013, Rakhanov continued his activities as the chief specialist of the internal policy department of the akimat of the Karaganda region.

Then, from 2013 to 2016, he worked as an expert and chief expert of the Print Media Department of the Information Committee.

Rakhanov spent the next five years, from 2016 to 2021, as an expert, consultant and inspector of the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Finally, from July 2021 to December 2023, he served as acting head of the sector of the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after which he was appointed to a new position in the Ministry of Culture and Information.
