Musin urged to be more economical in using internet
Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Bagdat Musin, calls on the country's citizens to be more economical in using the Internet. Musin noted that the Internet is a limited resource, as well as water, El.kz reports.
Musin drew attention to the high volume of data consumption among Kazakhstanis, which is 15-20 gigabytes of information. He urged people to switch to using Wi-Fi when they were at home to save off mobile internet, which he said is an expensive resource.
However, when he was told that water and the Internet differ in that water is an exhaustible resource, Musin stated that the Internet is also exhaustible because base stations can serve a limited number of mobile devices. Exceeding this number leads to the degradation of communication, and the installation of additional base stations requires significant investment.
Recall that at a meeting on the development of Astana, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, expressed concern about the quality of the Internet and cellular communications in the capital. In response, Minister Musin blamed citizens and radiophobes for problems with the Internet and communications in the country.
Bagdat Musin also noted that saving Internet traffic is a necessary measure to ensure a more stable and high-quality connection for all users.
