Mural dedicated to World Nomad Games appeared in Astana
A new mural "Burkitshi" appeared in Astana, dedicated to the World Nomad Games, which will be held from September 8 to 14, 2024,El.kz reports with reference to the official website of the Astana Mayor's Office.
- The height of the mural is 16 meters. It depicts a golden eagle, which symbolizes the beginning of the Games. It is the image of picturesque lands of nomads, mountains and yurts, embodying the freedom of nomadic life and a rich cultural tradition, the report says.
The World Nomad Games are international sports competitions dedicated to ethnic sports.
They include folk games of the nomadic ethnic groups of Central Asia, which convey the cultural heritage and spirit of nomadic life.
About 2000 participants from 89 countries of the world will take part in the event.
At the World Nomad Games in Astana, 97 sets of medals in 21 sports will be played.
