Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation meets with Ambassador of Germany to Kazakhstan
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, held a meeting with Monika Iversen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources management and the development of modern irrigation technologies were discussed, El.kz reports.
Nurzhigitov noted the successes achieved by Kazakhstan in partnership with German organizations, in particular, with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
This cooperation includes the implementation of a regional program on water resources management in Central Asia, taking into account climate impacts.
Monika Iversen emphasized the interest of German companies in working in Kazakhstan and noted the increased interest of local farmers in advanced German irrigation technologies. The topic of training specialists for the water industry of Kazakhstan was also discussed.
In particular, the Kazakh-German University has an educational program "Integrated Water Resources Management". Iversen expressed her readiness to facilitate the establishment of links between the Ministry and higher education institutions in Germany.
Nurzhigitov expressed hope for the next meeting with experts to specify areas of cooperation. He stressed his readiness to cooperate with both German government agencies and German business to achieve his goals.
