Medium-sized businesses should become a driver of industrial growth — Alikhan Smailov
A wide range of issues related to the development of the manufacturing industry was considered at the meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov with representatives of medium-sized businesses, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The discussion was attended by entrepreneurs from Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, NCE Atameken, as well as ministers, deputy mayors of cities and heads of the quasi-public sector responsible for promoting business initiatives and state support.
In March, at the opening of the first session of the Parliament of the VIII convocation, the Head of State noted that the country needs a "new wave" of entrepreneurs who are able to take responsibility for economic progress.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of ensuring the availability of financing, increasing output, import substitution and the development of new production niches, the implementation of state support programs, public procurement, taxation, certification, the development of industrial zones and industrial parks, the introduction of innovations, exports, job creation, training of specialists and a number of others.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development - Marat Karabaev, Science and Higher Education - Sayasat Nurbek, Healthcare - Azhar Giniyat made comments on key problematic issues.
The Prime Minister stressed that government agencies will be instructed to work together with the business community to work out a solution to all the issues voiced.
He noted that, according to world practice, medium-sized businesses are most adapted to constantly changing market conditions. This makes it a major player in economic development. In this regard, the most developed countries actively encourage small enterprises to expand and strengthen their positions in the world market.
