Mangystau region is leader in foreign tourists’ time spent

According to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, in 2022, more than 41 thousand foreign tourists visited the Mangystau region. On average, guests from other countries stayed on the coast of the Caspian Sea for 7 to 12 days, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.

Also in the top three in terms of the duration of visits were the cities of Almaty and Astana. According to the ministry, last year Almaty was visited by more than 417 thousand foreign guests. On average, they spent 3-5 days in the Southern capital.

During this time, more than 238 thousand foreign tourists visited Astana. They stayed in the capital for an average of 2-3 days. And the average length of stay of tourists from other countries in Kazakhstan is 4 days.

"The duration of the visit emphasizes the tourist attractiveness of the region. The Mangystau region has a very great potential, and we are actively working to fully realize it. Specialists are being trained and trained, tourist infrastructure is being built, negotiations are underway on new direct flights. The demand among foreigners is great, and we want to satisfy it," said Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Yerkinbayev.
