Majilis Committee holds meeting on topic of ecology

The Majilis Committee on Ecology and Nature Management held an expanded thematic meeting on the topic "Environmental problems and ways to solve them", El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his speech, the head of the relevant committee, Edil Zhanbyrshin, recalled that at the opening of the first session of the Parliament of the eighth convocation, the Head of State called ensuring water security a strategically important task. The President instructed to pay special attention to the effective management of water resources and their protection within the framework of the new draft Water Code being developed by the Government

The head of the Ministry of Ecology Zulfiya Suleimenova reported on the state of the environment, the work being done to improve the environmental situation and the use of natural resources in Kazakhstan.

She also said that tax revenues to the local budget from payments for negative impact on the environment for 2022 amounted to 98.6 billion tenge.

During the discussion, its participants focused on problematic and topical issues of the development of the system for the disposal of production and consumption waste, and also outlined the prospects for the development of water management as one of the priority areas of activity of the Ministry of Ecology.
