Louis Vuitton and Gucci to use fabrics from Turkistan
A cotton process plant worth 146.8 billion tenge will be built in Turkistan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The production capacity of the textile factory will be13 thousand tons per year, 50 million meters of home textiles, 7 million sets of bed linen. More than 2000 jobs will be created, the report says.
The construction of the production complex aimed at the development of the cotton cluster will be led by Xinjiang Lihua (Group) Co., Ltd
- A significant advantage of the project is the direct cooperation of the company with such giants of the fashion industry as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. In the future, sewing fabrics made in Turkistan will be sold to these brands, the press service reports.
Turkistan region is the only cotton-growing region of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the "Regional Roadmap for the Development of Cotton Growing and Support for the Cotton-Textile Cluster until 2027", it is planned to create nine cotton clusters, which will reduce dependence on prices for raw cotton.
