Large oil company fined in Atyrau region

The Caspi Neft company was fined 13.6 billion tenge for the illegal accumulation of hazardous waste, El.kz reports.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Atyrau region constantly monitors the circulation of hazardous waste, which is a priority area of environmental activities.

Caspi Neft JSC did not receive permission to accumulate over 4500 tons of hazardous waste generated in 2021-2022 as a result of drilling and operation of the field. As a result of consideration of the prosecutor's submission, by the decision of the judicial panel of the Atyrau Regional Court dated July 2, 2024, Caspi Neft JSC was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 328 of the Code of Administrative Offenses with the imposition of a fine of 13,684,868,730 tenge.
