Kazpost issues temple stamps
Postage stamps from the series "Memorable and Jubilee Dates", issued in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Turkestan diocese, were put into circulation. The postage stamps depict the Assumption Cathedral, the Nativity of Christ Cathedral, the Church in Honor of St. Alexander Nevsky, the Ascension Cathedral, El.kz reports with reference to Kazpost JSC.
"Especially for the anniversary date, at our request, at the expense of benefactors of the Metropolitan District, Kazpost issued four beautiful, artistically executed temple stamps that are spiritual and cultural sights of our country, an architectural decoration of the Republic. Two cathedrals imprinted on the stamps - The Ascension and the Nativity of Christ, are included in the list of one hundred nationwide sacred objects of Kazakhstan," metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan said.
The participants of the ceremony noted the symbolism of the issue of stamps and the cancellation ceremony on the eve of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, where delegates from 49 countries from around the world are expected.
