An international symposium on the topic “China–Kazakhstan Innovations in Intelligent Computing and Artificial Intelligence” was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU).it
The large-scale event, organized jointly with the China Computer Federation (CCF), brought together representatives of the domestic and international academic community, IT specialists, and international experts.
Speaking at the opening of the symposium, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev emphasized the importance of the meeting in advancing the strategic objective set by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to transform Kazakhstan into a country that actively adopts and applies digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
“Cooperation between KazNU and the China Computer Federation is developing on a systematic basis. Last year, our delegation participated in the National Computer Congress in Harbin, while in April this year, a CCF representative office in Almaty was officially opened at the University. Today’s symposium is a natural continuation of this productive partnership,” the Rector noted.
In turn, CCF Vice Chairman Hai Jin highly commended the scientific and technological potential of the two countries and highlighted the importance of conducting joint research and training young scientists to advance AI technologies.
During the sessions, experts presented the latest scientific developments and practical projects in the field of AI, assessing their impact on economic and social development. Particular attention was given to large language models (LLMs), agentic systems, and practical pathways for applying AI in healthcare and agriculture.
The symposium continued with a roundtable discussion involving experts and a series of specialized thematic seminars.
