“Kazinform” and “IRNA” International News Agencies organized an online videoconference

“Kazinform” and “IRNA” news agencies signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2017. “IRNA” is the state news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

An online videoconference “Intercultural Dialogue of the Media: Kazinform and IRNA” was attended by the heads of the international relations department of two agencies, as well as correspondents and editors, during which the participants exchanged their views and experiences at covering cultural events in the field of media.

“This is our first experience in hosting the thematic conferences, but we hope that such events will be held even more actively and will show the fruitful results. We exchange the ideas and experience on how IRNA and Kazinform can influence for the development of cultural relations between the two nations”, said Zaman Rezakhani, Director of International Relations department of IRNA news agency.

During the online conference, participants discussed the role of cultural relations and the media in society, focusing on cooperation between news agencies.

“The role of mass media, including the state ones, is to cover the objective events and news in the world and our country. Since the establishment of cooperation, the “IRNA” and “Kazinform” agencies have been actively working on joint projects, covering not only the news concerning the two countries, but also organizing the events as well. It is important to note that a joint photo exhibition, that shows a close cooperation, was organized in Nur-Sultan a year ago. In our turn, we cover it on the pages of our agency”, the conference participants said.

Reflecting on the cultural heritage, the participants of the conference touched on the theme of hosting and covering the anniversary events in honor of the 175th anniversary of the famous Kazakh poet Abai and the 1150th anniversary of the thinker Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, and also spoke about the role of the classic of Persian literature Ferdowsi.

As Zaman Rezakhani noted, during the current period, the two articles dedicated to the poet Abai were published on the page of IRNA news agency.

In her turn, the Head of the International Relations department of “Kazinform” International News Agency Togzhan Yessenbayeva, expressing her gratitude to the colleagues from Iran, suggested the several directions in expanding cooperation.

Since the moment of signing the memorandum, IRNA and Kazinform have been actively developing the cooperation within the framework of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies Organization. We highly appreciate an active participation of IRNA agency in organizing last year's joint photo exhibitions in Nur-Sultan and online photo gallery. We exchange the ideas, experiences and information. The main purpose of the conference is how the agencies can help Iran and Kazakhstan to learn more about the culture of the two countries, and in this part the role of the media plays an important role”, said Togzhan Yessenbayeva.

At the same time, “Kazinform” International News Agency was presenting their ideas on how to further develop a bilateral cooperation.

“Since March 2020, “Kazinform” has included the nine main portals, and three of them are dedicated to the cultural projects. We propose to organize an online photo exhibition on the “Kazinform” and IRNA websites and various discussion meetings in online and offline format. We also suggest to start a series of cultural podcasts. We also propose to organize an essay competition among the journalists of Iran and Kazakhstan in English”, said the Head of the International Relations department of “Kazinform” International News Agency.
