Kazakhstan's economic and investment potential presented at the “Global Bengal” Summit
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Nurlan Zhalgasbayev participated in the 7th “Global Bengal” business-summit, which was held in Kolkata (state of West Bengal). The event aims to promote the trade and investment attractiveness of West Bengal and is positioned by the state government as the premier economic event of the year, El.kz cites MFA.
During his speech at the plenary session of the business-summit, Ambassador Nurlan Zhalgasbayev acquainted those present with the main points of State-of-the-Nation Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the political and economic reforms he is carrying out in our country, and also noted the progressive development of trade, economic and investment interaction between Kazakhstan and India. In addition, as part of his speech, he spoke about the work being done to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan and the main advantages of doing business. In conclusion of his statement, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev invited local business circles to cooperate in the implementation of joint investment projects, as well as to more active interaction in the field of trade.
On the margins of the event Kazakh Ambassador held productive meetings in B2B and B2G formats, including with representatives of Indian business from such sectors as agriculture, industry, light industry, MMC and others.
Almost 5,000 delegates attended the summit, 400 of whom were international delegates from 17 partner countries. In addition, official delegations from 40 countries as well as 15 foreign Ambassadors participated in the event.
As a result of the summit а total of 188 MoUs were signed and a large number of new deals were announced to ensure a conducive environment in the state.
