Kazakhstanis win Grand Prix of international festival in Stavropol

Kazakh vocal group "El Voice" won the Grand Prix at the prestigious international competition-festival "Soldier's Envelope", which ended in the Russian city of Stavropol, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
Kazakh artists presented to the public a performance of the work "Ballad of the Mother" in the nomination "Ensembles".
"Kazakh artists managed to create a true drama on stage: a touching musical story about maternal pain and loss sounded with such power and sincerity that it caused tears in the hall. The perfect fusion of voices, a deep understanding of the artistic image and a high level of vocal skill were the key to a well-deserved victory," the ministry noted.
This year's festival collected about 800 applications, of which only 13 ensembles and 13 soloists made it to the finals. Participants represented 15 regions of Russia, as well as neighboring countries - Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
"For the artists of the Astana Opera House, participation in this competition has become an opportunity to present Kazakhstan on the international stage as a country with rich musical traditions and a high level of performing art," the ministry added.
