In Kazakhstan, applications for government grants to launch new business ideas will open on June 24, El.kz, reports citing Ministry of Labor andSocial Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan.
This year, the government plans to issue 9,000 grants. The funds are provided on a non-repayable basis to promote entrepreneurship and create new sources of income.
How much can you receive?
The grant amount is 400 MCI (Monthly Calculation Index). In monetary terms, this equals 1,730,000 tenge.
The grant is paid as a lump sum. This type of support can only be received once.
Who can apply?
Registered unemployed individuals are eligible for the grant. Individual entrepreneurs may also apply, provided their registration period does not exceed one year.
Applicants must hold a certificate of completion from the "Bastau Business" entrepreneurship training project. The certificate must have been issued within the last three years.
Who is the support intended for?
The grants are designed for socially vulnerable categories of the population. Applications are open to people with disabilities, kandas (ethnic returnees), interregional migrants, and members of low-income or large families.
Additionally, citizens raising a child with a disability and recipients of loss-of-breadwinner benefits are eligible to participate. Decisions on applications are made by a commission following a presentation of the business project.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the Business.enbek.kz portal. To do this, you must register, pass an eligibility check, download a business plan template, and upload the completed document back to the portal.
Afterward, the applicant fills out a form and signs it using an Electronic Digital Signature (EDS). The application period will run from June 24 to July 8.
What can the money be spent on?
The grant can be used to purchase inventory, tools, industrial equipment, livestock, poultry, seeds, and seedlings. It can also be used to pay for premises rental.
The funds cannot be used for personal expenses, debt repayment, the purchase or construction of housing, or the acquisition of land plots, foreign currency, securities, or digital assets.
Furthermore, the grant is not provided for the production of excisable goods (e.g., alcohol or tobacco).
