Wanted for corruption kazakhstani arrested in Moscow
Former Chairman of the Board of Astana Trade International Bolat Altynbekov was arrested in Moscow. He has been wanted since 2010 on suspicion of corruption, El.kz reports with reference to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption.
"As a result of operational-search measures within the framework of international cooperation, the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, together with the Anti-Corruption Service and Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Altynbekov was detained in Moscow and taken into custody," in Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption said.
In order to hide from the investigating authorities, the detainee changed his surname from "Altynbekov" to "Alsher".
Currently, the procedure for the extradition of Bolat Altynbekov to Kazakhstan has been initiated.
