The stage was won by Spaniard Enric Mas from the Movistar team. The second was South African Daryl Impey of Israel-Premier Tech. The third result went to Briton Fred Wright from "Vahrain-Victorious".

Kazakhstan rider of "Astana" Vadim Pronsky finished eighth. David De la Cruz finished the stage 65th, Miguel Angel Lopez 68th, Vincenzo Nibali 71st, Harold Tejada 118th, Evgeny Fedorov 135th, Alexey Lutsenko 136th, Samuele Battistella 145th.
