Kazakhstani students clinch gold at Drone Soccer Championships in U.S.

Students from Astana and Aktobe delivered a strong performance at the international Drone Soccer Championships in U.S. in California. They outperformed competitors from 17 countries and secured top spots in two disciplines, El.kz reports

The FIDA USA Drone Soccer Championship took place from April 30 to May 2 in Palm Springs, with over 100 teams competing for awards.

In the individual standings, Arsen Amantay, a student from School-Lyceum No. 8 secured a decisive victory.

And in the “Super Pilot” category Khairalla Aisultan took 2nd place.

In the team standings for Drone Soccer Class 20, Kazakhstani participants swept the podium. The gold went to the "Kemel Bilim" team from Aktobe,

Silver and bronze were awarded to Schools No. 8 and No. 82 from Astana, respectively.

The teams prepared for the competition for over a year. Prior to the trip, they passed a national selection process in the capital and had to defend their participation application before the international federation (FIDA).

"For me, this is one of the first truly major international victories for Kazakhstani drone soccer. I am proud of every student and every coach," Kazakhstan Drone Soccer Association Director Alikhan Ryspai.

Kazakhstani teams competed in two classes. In Class 20, where drones are under 20 centimeters, they took all three prize-winning spots. In the larger Class 40 category, they also demonstrated one of the tournament's best results.
