At the request of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Kazakhstani citizen who was on the international wanted list was detained in Cairo, Egypt,El.kz reports citing Polisia.kz.

The man is accused of large-scale fraud. In 2023, acting in collusion with other individuals, he took out car loans under the names of unsuspecting third parties. The vehicles were then resold to others.

According to police, 105 victims have filed complaints, and the total damage exceeds 1.5 billion tenge.
