Kazakhstani female chess players have strengthened their positions in the updated FIDE world rankings, with two athletes breaking into the top 10 of the junior standings. Alua Nurman showed significant progress, securing the second spot on the global list, El.kz reports.

A Jump of 14 Positions

In the updated FIDE junior girls' rankings, 19-year-old Alua Nurman takes second place with a rating of 2443 points. Over the reporting period, she climbed 14 spots.

Kazakhstan in the Top 10: Two Players Represented

Another Kazakhstani, Amina Kairbekova, is ranked 9th with 2374 points. She gained 12 rating points and continues to maintain her position among the world's top ten strongest juniors.

The presence of two representatives from the same country in the global junior top 10 is a landmark result for Kazakhstani chess. This reflects not only the athletes' personal achievements but also the effectiveness of the country’s systemic training programs.

Alua Nurman recently captured the attention of the international chess community during the Grenke Chess Festival in Karlsruhe. Before a match, she took a photo with Magnus Carlsen, one of the tournament's headline guests.
