In the ranking of countries by the level of protection of property rights, Kazakhstan took 71st place in the world out of 129 states, El.kz reports with reference to the Ranking.kz.

Kazakhstan's index was 5.275. The higher the index, the higher the level of protection of rights in the country.

The ranking evaluates the main institutions of property rights: legal and political environment, physical property rights and intellectual property rights.

Kazakhstan's legal and political environment sub-index fell to 3,833 with the following estimates: 4,673 for judicial independence, 4,091 for the rule of law, 3,121 for political stability, and 3,445 for anti-corruption.

The sub-index on physical property rights fell to 6.39 with the following estimates: 5,608 for the perception of protection of property rights, 8,552 for property registration and 4,871 for ease of access to credit.

The sub-index of the Republic of Kazakhstan on intellectual property rights increased to 4,774 with the following ratings: 5,213 for the perception of intellectual property protection, 5,783 for patent protection, 2.6 for copyright protection and 5,859 for the protection of trademarks.

Among the CIS countries, property rights were better protected in Azerbaijan and Armenia than in Kazakhstan. Worse than in Kazakhstan, there were indicators in Russia, Moldova and Ukraine (disputed status).

Citizens' property rights were best protected in the world in Switzerland, Singapore and New Zealand. Haiti was the worst.
