Kazakhstan plans to abolish VAT on sugar imports

The planned amendments to the Tax Code aimed at stimulating domestic producers were announced by the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov, El.kz reports.
"To stimulate sugar production, it is proposed to exempt imports of sugar from VAT - raw cane, as well as to extend the validity of VAT benefits for sugar producers," the minister said in his report at the plenary session of the Majilis.
