Kazakhstan and Egypt aimed at strengthening multifaceted cooperation
Within the framework of his working visit to Cairo, Deputy Foreign Minister Adil Tursunov held a number of meetings in the Foreign Ministry of the Arab Republic of Egypt, El.kz reports with reference to MFA.
During the talks with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, an exchange of views took place on bilateral cooperation and Kazakh-Egyptian cooperation within the framework of international organizations. Particular attention was paid to the preparations for the upcoming summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, which will be held on October 12-13, 2022 in Nur-Sultan. The parties discussed the schedule of mutual visits at the highest level in 2022-2023.
As part of the conversation with Deputy Foreign Minister Ihab Badawi, issues of interaction between the two countries within the framework of CICA were considered in detail. The Egyptian diplomat highly appreciated the work of Kazakhstan as chairman of the Meeting and expressed support for Nur-Sultan's initiatives to transform and institutionalize the forum. The interlocutors agreed to maintain contacts for the success of the upcoming autumn summit.
At the meeting with The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Ayman Kamel, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of bilateral cooperation. Wide opportunities for increasing the volume of bilateral trade, developing tourism, intensifying educational and scientific exchanges were discussed. It was noted that a significant contribution to the achievement of this goal is intended to make the regular meeting of the Kazakh-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural, Humanitarian, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which is scheduled for November this year in Nur-Sultan.
In Cairo, the Kazakh diplomat held several more talks. In preparation for the upcoming 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, a meeting was held with the diplomatic adviser to the Supreme Imam al-Azhar, Ambassador Abdurahman Musa. Tursunov stressed that the personal participation of the Supreme Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayeb in the event emphasizes the importance of strengthening the global interfaith dialogue.
During the conversation with the Deputy Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Hafez Abu Gazeleh, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Arab League, including within the framework of CICA. The parties stressed the importance of the participation of the LAS delegation in the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
Tursunov held meetings with former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Mohammed Al-Orabi, as well as Director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, member of the CICA Forum of Analytical Centers Mohammed Faez Farahat. The sides exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East, as well as topical issues on the regional and international agenda.
