Kazakhstan wins 8 medals at APLO-2025 Olympics

Ramazan Butantayev, a student of the IT lyceum from the Mangistau region, became the champion of the Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad, El.kz reports citing Enlightenment Ministry of Kazakhstan.
The Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO-2025) brought together about 500 participants from 12 countries of the region, including China, Japan, Australia, South Korea and other Asia-Pacific countries.
Ramazan Butantayev, a student of the 10th grade of a specialized IT lyceum, claimed a gold medal.
At the end of the Olympiad, Kazakh team won 5 medals: one gold, one silver and three bronze. Three more participants received certificates of honor for the high level of task performance.
The coach of the team was Aida Davletova, a second-year student at the University of Tübingen one of Germany's top universities, a multiple winner of linguistic Olympiads.
APLO is considered an important stage in preparation for the International Linguistic Olympiad (IOL) and forms analytical thinking, linguistic flexibility and understanding of cultural differences in schoolchildren.
