Kazakhstan to study Macedonia's experience in tourism and transport infrastructure

The first meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held in Skopje, El.kz reports with reference to the official telegram channel of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Within the framework of the meeting, the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, co-chairman of the Kazakh-Macedonian intergovernmental commission Alibek Kuantyrov spoke.

Kazakh Minister of  Economy expressed gratitude to the Macedonian side for the organization, saying that the Republic of North Macedonia is a reliable and long-term foreign economic partner of Kazakhstan.

"Today we are opening a new chapter in the history of our bilateral relations, launching the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission. A solid regulatory and legal framework has been created between our countries, the main economic agreements have been concluded: on trade and economic cooperation, on mutual encouragement and protection of investments, on avoidance of double taxation," the minister added.

Kuantyrov stressed that Kazakhstan continues its firm course to strengthen constructive dialogue and expand practical cooperation with North Macedonia.

"We need to continue working to increase the volume of trade and expand the range of products supplied. Currently, we are facing an important task - to intensify cooperation in the field of investment and joint ventures," the minister said.

For its part, Kazakhstan is interested in studying the experience of North Macedonia in the development of transport infrastructure and tourism.

"A favorable investment climate has been created in Kazakhstan: a simplified tax regime is in effect, national legislation is constantly being improved, and the package of investment preferences is expanding. Our strategic task is to increase the volume of foreign investment to $30 billion a year by 2025," Alibek Kuantyrov concluded.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia.
