Kazakhstan to receive grant from China for development of space industry
Kazakhstan and China signed a cooperation agreement to develop the space industry, El.kz reports.
The Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, said that Kazakhstan will receive a grant from China in the amount of 100 million yuan ($15.1 million or almost 6.5 billion tenge).
The minister said that the funds will be used to develop computational astronomy, modeling in astrophysics, strengthen scientific and technical infrastructure, exchange experience and train specialists in China. A memorandum of understanding has been signed defining the use of these funds.
A memorandum was also signed on the creation and operation of the International Scientific Lunar Station, which will allow Kazakh specialists to gain experience in deep space exploration.
