Kazakhstan to present 3rd national review on Sustainable Development Goals at UN forum in New York

In July 2025, Kazakhstan will present the third Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, El.kz reports with citing the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

The forum will be held at the UN headquarters in New York and will become a key platform for the exchange of experience in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Kazakhstan has already submitted such reviews in 2019 and 2022, receiving positive feedback from international partners.

The preparation of the third review is being carried out by the Ministry of National Economy together with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, business, experts and international structures, including UNDP and the Institute of Economic Research. Regional seminars play an important role in the process, where the results achieved and future steps are discussed.

Today, Kazakhstan is actively integrating the SDGs into the state planning system. Already 93% of priority indicators have been taken into account in strategic documents, and at the level of regions, the Sustainable Development Goals are fully included in regional development plans.

The presentation of the updated report will confirm Kazakhstan's commitment to the global Agenda 2030 and will allow the country to strengthen partnerships with international donors and development institutions. It will also open up new opportunities to attract investment and share experiences in the field of sustainable growth.
