Sklyar stressed the importance of the strategic partnership of our country with the China National Petroleum Corporation. CNPC is one of the largest oil companies in the world, as well as a long-standing strategic and investment partner of Kazakhstan.
Hou Qijun, in his turn, noted that CNPC attaches great importance to cooperation with Kazakhstan. Guided by the important agreements reached by the heads of the two states, the company seeks to expand the scale of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and make a new contribution to the in-depth development of the China-Kazakhstan comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working closely on specific projects within the framework of the Framework Agreement on Expanding Strategic Cooperation in the Energy Sector, concluded between the Ministry of Energy and CNPC during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China in May this year.
Issues of expanding the production capacity of the Shymkent Oil Refinery, the construction of the second line of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline, joint geological exploration, etc., are being worked out. The Government will take all necessary measures for the effective implementation of these projects.
Also, as part of strengthening cooperation, Roman Sklyar and the head of CNPC Hou Qijun agreed to hold such working meetings on a regular basis.
