Kazakhstan was declared as the official host of the Games of the Future 2026, a unique tournament that combines traditional sports and esports, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants will compete in disciplines that combine physical and digital formats.
"Kazakhstan actively supports the development of esports. Since 2018, more than 140 tournaments have been held, in which over 40 thousand athletes took part. We will make every effort to successfully hold the Games of the Future," said Rollan Serikov – acting Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, representatives of Phygital International visited Astana to assess the city's readiness to host the tournament. The Kazakhstan Esports Federation has already begun preparations for the Games of Future.
