Kazakhstan supports global climate change policy
Kazakh Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Zulfiya Suleimenova online participated in the Carbon Reduction Management Forum which was held in Paris, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry.
It should be noted that Kazakhstan's cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in the field of environmental protection is becoming increasingly important due to the growing relevance of the transition to a green economy.
"Climate change, political and economic instability, energy and food security, desertification, conservation of biological diversity, combating the depletion of water resources are the main global challenges of our time, and are becoming one of the most important tasks for inclusive and sustainable development," Zulfiya Suleimenova noted in her speech.
Aware of the responsibility in achieving the temperature goal of the Paris Agreement, Kazakhstan is already working on the development of renewable energy sources, within the framework of the Strategy for Achieving Kazakhstan's Carbon Neutrality until 2060.
The head of the department also noted the importance of technological modernization and re-equipment, because the transformation of the economic structure of our countries within the framework of low-carbon development and the transition to carbon neutrality will require scientific, technological and professional staffing.
Kazakhstan will support the implementation of global climate change policy in cooperation with the international community.
