Major projects have been implemented to modernize infrastructure and develop renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan,El.kz reports.

Within the framework of the program "Development of Heat and Electric Power Industry", 52.7 billion tenge was allocated from the republican budget for the reconstruction and construction of heat supply and power supply facilities.

In addition, the limit of returnable investments was increased, which opened up opportunities for the implementation of new projects for the modernization of power equipment. The adoption of the law "On Heat Power Engineering" was another important step. The document is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the heating system and improving the quality of services provided.

An important aspect was also the increase in tariffs for electricity and capacity maintenance services, which ensures the financial stability of companies and allows investing in infrastructure modernization. The total amount of funding for 2024 in this area amounted to more than 327 billion tenge.

Particular attention is paid to international cooperation. Kazakhstan has entered into strategic agreements with key foreign partners: Saudi Arabia, China and Russia. In March, an agreement was reached with Saudi Arabia on the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of 1 GW, and in November, an agreement was signed with China on the construction of wind and solar power plants with a total capacity of 1.8 GW. These projects will strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the field of green energy and will be an important step in diversifying the country's energy system.

The course towards sustainable development and the introduction of renewable energy sources will allow Kazakhstan not only to strengthen its energy security, but also to take a leading position in the international arena in environmental and innovation issues.
