Kazakhstan sees 6% economic growth

The gross domestic product (GDP) in Kazakhstan increased by 6% in January-April 2025, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of National Economy.
Growth has been recorded in key sectors, including transportation (22.4%), trade (7%), agriculture (3.9%), communications (2.6%), and industry (6.4%).
The volumes of cargo transported by rail and pipeline increased, accounting for 20.5% and 19.6% of the industry share, respectively. The regional leaders are Turkistan region (21.8%), Abai region (14.9%), and Zhambyl region (11.2%).
Trade also shows stable growth: wholesale trade increased by 7.4%, retail by 6.1%.
The construction industry recorded a physical volume index of 16.2%.
The industrial sector grew by 6.4%. The mining industry increased by 7.1% due to a rise in coal extraction (11.2%). The manufacturing sector recorded a growth of 7.2%, particularly in the production of food products (12%), tobacco products (26.3%),chemical products (11.2%), machinery (11.2%).Agriculture continues to show positive dynamics with an index of 3.9% over the four-month period.
The government states that it is continuously monitoring the implementation of the President's directives aimed at sustainable socio-economic growth.
