Kazakhstan sees 12.5 rise in chemical output
Kazakhstan's chemical product production rose by 12.5 percent to 406 billion tenge in the first quarter of 2025, El.kz reports citing the press service of Kazakh Government.
According to the Minister of Industry and Construction Yersayin Nagaspaev, in 2025 the industry is expected to grow further - by 5% compared to last year.
One of the growth factors will be the launch of new production facilities. Thus, the production of polypropylene will increase by 32%, sodium cyanide - by 15%, fertilizers and yellow phosphorus - by 13%. This will meet both the needs of the domestic market and export potential.
In 2024, the chemical industry of Kazakhstan produced products worth over 1 trillion tenge, 7.7% more than a year earlier. The main contribution was made by enterprises producing mineral fertilizers, acid, plastics and chemical reagents.
The minister stressed that over the past five years, the industry has shown steady growth, by an average of 5% annually.
Development is ensured both through the technological modernization of existing enterprises and through state support measures.
