KAZAKHSTAN'S MODEL OF SOCIAL CONCORD AND NATIONAL UNITY IS THE UNDISPUTED SUCCESS OF THE LEADER OF THE NATION

Address by the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan

Dear compatriots!

The First President of Kazakhstan, Yelbassy Nursultan Nazarbayev, announced the early resignation of his constitutional powers from March 20, 2019.

This is a far-sighted and verified step of a wise statesman, courageous citizen and patriot, who honestly and brilliantly fulfilled his historical mission - to build an independent Kazakhstan.

Under his leadership, our country has peacefully found and strengthened its statehood and independence during the collapse of the USSR.

Thanks to the policy of Yelbassy, Kazakhstan has gone through difficult times of transition without wars and chaos, civil upheavals, interethnic and religious conflicts, and social cataclysms.

Having put the principle of "first economy - then politics" and also unity of people at the forefront, Nursultan Nazarbayev successfully solved the tasks of forming market economy, stable social growth and brought Kazakhstan to the trajectory of a qualitatively new level of development.

Today, our country has become one of the fifty most competitive countries in the world. Having implemented the Strategy "Kazakhstan - 2030" ahead of schedule, Kazakhstan under the leadership of Yelbassy created the fundamental foundations for the development of the country in the XXI century.

Certainly, the most famous and significant success of the First President was the strategic project to transit the capital to Astana. The new capital, the Flag, the Anthem, the Coat of Arms and internationally recognized borders have become a tangible embodiment of all the achievements and victories of independent Kazakhstan.

The indisputable basis for the success of social, economic and political reforms in our country was the Kazakhstan’s model of social concord and national unity, rightly bearing the name of Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Embodied in the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, it has become an effective mechanism for the real equality of all citizens, regardless of their ethnic and religious affiliation.

The political genius of Yelbassy has created a unique institution of peace and concord, which is no longer present in any country in the world.

Secretaries General of the United Nations Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon expressed their great admiration for our Assembly and called it "UN in miniature".

Today, the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan is all 18 million Kazakhstan people!

The outstanding significance and greatness of the First President's achievements make there is no alternative to the continuity of his economic and political course.

Yelbassy laid down everything necessary for the further successful development of Kazakhstan and its entry into the "thirty" of the world's leaders: a comprehensive modernization of the economy and social sphere of Kazakhstan is being successfully carried out, "Rukhani zhangyru" programme is being implemented at full speed, clear contours of the national model of social well-being of the country are being outlined.

Many citizens naturally feel great regret about this decision of Yelbassy. His strong political will has always inspired people to believe in tomorrow and in their own strength.

In an hour of hard and difficult trials, people unconditionally relied on the wisdom and experience of the First President, who always found the most correct and effective solutions, following the unchangeable principle - to look for opportunities for growth in any crisis.

However, Yelbassy convincingly justified the necessity and balance of this step aimed at bringing Kazakhstan to a new level of development of the economy and social sphere of the country in a new historical period.

At the same time, Nursultan Nazarbayev remains the guarantor of consistency and continuity in the political and socio-economic course of reforms.

Today, the task of state bodies, civil society, and all citizens of the country is not to lose and multiply the huge heritage and achievements of Yelbassy.

We, the members of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan: Kazakhs and Russians, Uzbeks and Poles, Tatars and Germans, Uighurs and Vainakhs, Kurds and Ukrainians, Koreans and Tajiks, Armenians and Azerbaijanis, Turks, Dungans and other minorities, members of the Councils of Public Consent, Councils of Mothers, Scientific and Expert Councils, "Zhangyru Zholy" youth movement appeal to our fellow citizens to stay on the right track - to preserve and strengthen our unity and consent. This has been proven by time and history.

We thank you, our dear Yelbassy, for peace, for the Motherland, for the lessons of courage, for the songs and bread in our homes, for the pride of living in the country of the Great Steppe!

 We promise to follow the parting words of Yelbassy: "Protect the friendship and unity of our people, our mutual trust and respect for the culture and traditions of each citizen of the country. This is the only way we will be strong and win all the challenges. This is the only way we will prosper"!

We firmly believe that Nursultan Abishevich will continue to lead his child - the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan - as a guarantee of peace and tranquility in our country.

We are convinced that loyalty to the course of Yelbassy will be the most sincere and deepest gratitude of the people to its First President, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
