Kazakhstan proposes to train couples with participation of mentors and psychologists before marriage
A proposal to introduce pre-marital education is being discussed in Kazakhstan as part of a draft law on domestic violence. Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kambarov, shared the details of this initiative today during a briefing at the site of the Central Communications Service, answering questions from journalists, El.kz reports.
According to the proposal, it is planned to provide training to young people before marriage.
"The Majilis is currently considering a draft law on domestic violence. There are such sub-clauses as to educate young people at least a month before getting married, so it is being considered. Mentors and psychologists will work with this category of citizens who want to get married," Kairat Kambarov said at a briefing of the CCS. "It is still under consideration, it has not yet been approved."
However, it is worth noting that the initiative is still under consideration and has not yet received final approval. If this bill is approved, pre-marriage education could be a step for future spouses in Kazakhstan.
