Kazakhstan presents national report in UN Committee against torture

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as part of the Kazakh delegation, took part in the presentation of the national report on the measures taken to combat torture, El.kz reports with reference to the Polisia.kz.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke in detail about legislative changes in Kazakhstan to strengthen responsibility for domestic violence, comprehensive measures to digitalize the criminal process, excluding the possibility of falsification of criminal case materials and illegal methods of investigation.

Members of the UN Committee gave positive feedback on the ongoing work on continuous video surveillance in the offices of the internal affairs bodies and institutions of the penitentiary system. The UN Committee Against Torture showed great interest in the presentation on the work carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the installation of terminals for receiving and submitting appeals by convicts in places of deprivation of liberty, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
