Kazakhstan plans to commission around 200 new industrial enterprises in 2026. This was announced by First Deputy PM Nurlibek Nalibayev, El.kz reports citing a press conference held at the Government.

The total investment value of the planned projects is estimated at approximately 1.7 trln tenge. In allocating state support, the authorities intend to take into account market demand for products and the production capacity of existing enterprises.

Over the first nine months of 2026, Kazakhstan’s manufacturing industry grew by 8.6%, with total output approaching 24.2 trln tenge.

According to Nalibayev, the pharmaceutical industry recorded the most significant growth, at 31%. Output in the chemical industry increased by 23.4%, mechanical engineering by 22.8%, and food production by 13.8%.

The manufacturing industry’s share of GDP exceeded 14%. The Deputy Prime Minister attributed the expansion of industrial production to the objective of reducing dependence on imported goods.

“The industry’s key priority is to leverage domestic production capacity and reduce dependence on imports. State support will be provided to projects that deliver the greatest positive impact on the country’s economy,” Nalibayev stated.

To assess new projects, the Ministry of Industry and Construction has approved a methodology for evaluating the balance of production capacities. Applications will be assessed with due regard to market demand, resource availability and the capacity utilisation of existing enterprises.

“This will make it possible to allocate public funds to projects that deliver tangible economic benefits while preventing overproduction,” the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasised.

At the same time, a model based on industrial clusters is being introduced. It предусматривает cooperation between large-scale industrial enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses in the production of finished goods.
